In an effort to stand by our philosophy and nurture a generation of environmentally conscious citizens, Kingfisher Lake International Children’s College is the only school with its very own subject devoted to doing this.
Green T (Green Technology) is a weekly fixture in the timetable from year one upwards. It covers topics such as the three Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), creating compost, conservation, architecture, biomimicry, urban sustainability and the importance of trees. The idea is to empower learners to realize there are small acts that they can carry out each day that will make a difference to the future of our planet. We encourage our children to feel positively about opportunities to heal the earth. The themes are current and dynamic and taught in an age-appropriate way, often linked to IT lessons.
Kingfisher Lake intends to reach ‘eco-school ‘status and to use its facilities to enlighten individuals beyond the school community, creating a much greater awareness of the needs of our environment, locally and globally.
This Green Blog will keep you abreast of all the things we are doing in this regard. Help and suggestions are always welcome…. Watch this space!
